There's More Than One Way to Skin a Cat!

This was one of the funniest things ever. I COULD NOT cut into that stupid spaghetti squash so I looked in "The Joy of Cooking" to see how they went about cooking it and they said to poke some "generous" holes in it and microwave it for 15 minutes. This is what happened...

Well, it was scooped out and ready to go! I used what I could and it took about 10 minutes to clean up the rest. Also, when it exploded, it was LOUD! So, when they say, "poke 'generous' holes", they really mean it ;).

  1. wow. that is funny. i can't believe it exploded. it was REALLY hard to cut. i had to get my cleaver out to bust it open.

do you know how other's are doing on this thing? workouts are still going strong. jess might have quit on the food but i am still doing it. i notice this week has been hard to prep my meals. other than that it's going well. can't believe we are in our last month of the program.

  2. Yeah, this week is tough on prep. I don't know why. Are you sick of the food, is that why you may quit? I'm still liking it, it works really well for me. I'm still not doing so hot on the workouts. I'm still swimming several times a week but it's been really hard for me to get that resistance training in.
My family and one or two of my friends are still doing well. The rest have fallen off the wagon. Ah well. It's not for everyone, I suppose. The time has really flown by!

  4. i still love the program. some of the food i enjoy, others not so much. i now know most of the things i probably will not like and just repeat another meal i did like. i would like to continue on after the twelve weeks with their monthly fee. i just feel so good eating healthy. i'm doing a half marathon this weekend. it's helped me get back into running, although i think i pushed myself too hard since i felt so good and now my IT band is acting up. so i've been getting my resistance training in and not so much my cardio. i'm a little worried for my race.

i don't know about jess. she said she was going to start over with the food. she did say that she just kept switching things out, snacking, and it got too easy to keep doing it. she thinks she is eating too many calories. she still works out with me most mornings. it's true, it's not for everyone. i am glad it's working for me! :)

  5. I'm glad it's working for me too! Sorry about that IT band. I had trouble with mine after I ran a marathon YEARS ago. I haven't run more than 7 miles since so you're probably being very smart by easing up on it. I just ran right through the pain and it really messed me up. I'm sure you'll be just fine for your race.

I'm loving how I feel so I'm continuing as well. I'm going to Park City for a week starting Friday so it will be a test to see if I can be prepared enough to do this on vacation ;). It'll be a bit of work but I've got to do it. Ugh.
